Health
Care Questions for Jack Kingston
The following questions are over-arching, common
questions a cross-section of Glynn County citizens would
want to know. We will ask them on their behalf.
We will ask them at the Kingston Town Hall meeting if we
are permitted. |

|
1. Many folks in
Glynn County (Republican and Democrats alike) wait until
they are 65 years-old to take care of various health
problems when they will be covered by Medicare.
For the most part people are happy with Medicare and VA
Healthcare System which are public, single payer
systems. How can we address healthcare for the
under 65 age group?
If not with a single payer option, how can we work
toward an affordable coverage for a small business? This
small business owner with three employees has had
premiums go up 40% each year over the past 3-years with
no major claims. How can they afford coverage when
investing in a community business and investing in a
family take most of available income?
|
| |
|
2. Common sense
observation tells us that many folks with untreated
mental illness and untreated addictive disease fall into
our jails or are homeless. With Mental health coverage
included, would not the Public Health Option be the best
plan for those who suffer from mental disorder at the
same time yielding savings to the community?
Isn’t limiting spending on mental health a false
economy? |
| |
|
3. Many people
complain about the cost of prescription drugs and the
wide ranging differences throughout our community. How
would you propose we lower the cost of prescriptions?
|
| |
|
4. Do you believe
everyone deserves affordable health care? |
