The following
Veterans present at the General Meeting of the Glynn County
Democratic party were recognized for their service to our
country:
Vincent Joubert, Jr.-Davis
Served in the US Army 13 ˝ years.
Veteran of Vietnam War and served in Germany, Korea Panama as
well as Vietnam. Duty stations stateside in six states. Served
as Military advisor to the Vietnamese Army. Received the Army
Commendation Medal. Served on the POW debriefing team and
completed parachute training.
Starling Sutton
Served in the US Army Special Forces,
Reserve and Active. Assigned to an experimental training unit
and was cross-trained as an airborne Special Forces Medic. Was
a combat engineer and Infantry officer and was among the
country’s first modern-day special ops soldier.
Tom Mullen
Served in the Reserves
Jim Norris
Served in the US Army 57-59 and stationed
in FT. Campbell, KY. Was in the 101 Airborne Division and
active in the 101 Airborne Association.
Chuck DesEnfants
Served during the Korean Conflict and
Pre-Vietnam served as “observers”
Served in US Air Force.
Jerry Hegstrom
Served in the US Army. Enlisted during
the Korean Conflict. He was given administrative training and
stationed in Europe. Trained for reconnaissance and border
patrol.
Bob Ingram
Served 9 years in the US Navy during the
cold war and the Gulf War. Served four patrols on the USS Will
Rogers SSBN 659. Navy Nuclear Engineer, received the Navy
Accommodation Medal, Expert Rifleman ribbon and navy Pistol Shot
ribbon
